I am a native Texan who moved from “Big D” to Midland, then from Midland to a simpler life in Woodville, Texas. I live in a real log cabin in the woods and have a studio out back. I enjoy painting any subject, gardening, attending a loving church, and trying new recipes - retirement is sweet!
My high school art teacher encouraged me to major in art education at North Texas University and to return to become his “student teacher” afterward. So, I went there and met “Mr. Right”.
Many years later, I fell in love with ceramic tile, took China painting lessons and remodeled my own kitchen using coordinating wallpaper and matching backsplash tile. Later I was hired by Creative Tile, Inc. and designed many, many wonderful decorative tile murals for distinctive clients in Texas and other states. This led to eventually being proprietor of Tiles, Etc. for ten years.
Following my career painting tile murals, I returned to fine art. I love painting portraits, landscapes and nature, animals and still life. I use oils in a realistic or impressionistic style with emphasis on color, contrast and effects of light.
